TVThe Netflix hit of the moment is undoubtedly ‘Baby Reindeer’. The series about a bartender who is stalked by an older woman was based on true events. Fans have been looking for a while to find out who the real stalker would be, and they came up with a certain Fiona. She now tells the ‘Daily Mail’ that she is considering legal action.

LOOK. The trailer for ‘Baby Reindeer’

‘Baby Reindeer’ tells the story of Donald ‘Donny’ Dunn, a bartender who serves a lonely woman one evening. The chance meeting, during which he offers her a free cup of tea, is the starting signal of an ordeal for Donny. It turns out: the woman, Martha, is a dangerous stalker. In the years that followed, she sent him more than 41,000 emails, 744 tweets, 100 pages of letters and 350 hours of voicemails. Sounds like fiction, but it was indeed reality for Richard Gadd, the Scottish comedian who created the series and plays the leading role in it.

Fans started looking for the true identity of the stalker and discovered a certain Fiona Harvey. She admits that she was friends with Gadd and that she sometimes gave him pants as a gift, but: “I never stalked him,” Fiona clarifies. She also told the Daily Mail that Richard Gadd, the Scottish comedian who was stalked in real life, was actually the one obsessed with her. “He’s now using ‘Baby Reindeer’ to stalk me,” she said. “He wrote a whole show about me.”

Death threats

Her interview comes after Fiona became the victim of online hate and death threats against her. Although the creator of the series did his utmost to keep her identity a secret, sleuths still found her. “I have now had to block people who say they are going to stalk me like in the series,” she tells the ‘Daily Mail’. “What scares me is that some of them could be really dangerous. I could just be killed,” she continues. “I’m not suicidal. I’m not the type, but I think this would have driven someone else to suicide.”

That is why Fiona has now decided to take legal action against the streaming service. “I have filed a claim for defamation,” she tells ‘The Sun’. “I have a photographic memory and I can remember everything. So I do know what happened.”

‘Baby Reindeer’ has been available on Netflix since April 11.
