Boomtown, the alternative festival during the Ghent Festivities, has announced many new names. Millionaire, the band around singer and guitarist Tim Vanhamel, will be under the kiosk at the Kouter this summer.

You can know Millionaire from the song, among other things Champagne, that by the weekly magazine Humo last year it was declared ‘Best Belgian song since 2000’. So mark Monday, July 22, in your diary.

In total you will be able to see 21 artists for free at the Kouter. A different genre is central every day. For example, Maria Davidson will host a techno party on Thursday, July 25, and Sunday, July 21 will be all about hip-hop. We are also looking forward to July 24th: that is when the British indie band Circa Waves will come to Ghent.

Boomtown previously announced the arrival of Het Zesde Metaal, among others. That group is not on the Kouter, but paying in the Handelsbeurs. The organization behind Boomtown promises a few ‘surprises’ for that stage.
