“Hey, asshole”: Princess Kate’s controversial uncle opens up about first meeting with Prince William | Royalty

After his participation in ‘Big Brother’, Gary Goldsmith has been frequently in the British press in recent weeks. Just after his cousin Princess Kate – officially Princess Catherine – was admitted to hospital for a mysterious abdominal operation – which turned out to be cancer – he appeared on ‘Big Brother’.

But apparently Goldsmith wasn’t just an embarrassment to the family in the program. His first meeting with Kate’s husband, Prince William, would not have gone entirely smoothly either. In a new interview, he confesses that he skipped all protocols when he met the future king during a trip to Ibiza in 2006.

Prince William is said to have accidentally dropped a decoration item in Gary’s home on the Spanish island, which angered Kate’s uncle. “Hey, you bastard,” he allegedly shouted at the Prince of Wales. Words that left everyone present speechless. The security guards were even called in just to be sure. But luckily they weren’t necessary. Goldsmith has told several stories about his first meeting with William. He said that they met over a cup of tea, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

A few days ago, Gary apologized for the interview because he did not yet know that his cousin Kate was ill. “These statements were made and appeared in the magazine before I received the sad news about my niece. My thoughts and prayers are with her and the family at large during this difficult time.”
