After the long and wet winter period, Bobbejaanland amusement park in Lichtaart (Kasterlee) will welcome the first visitors of the new season on Saturday, March 30. In recent months, the well-known indoor rollercoaster Revolution has received a major makeover. The show and entertainment program is also new and there is also a dinosaur exhibition.
Bobbejaanland in Lichtaart will open its doors again on Easter Saturday and will mainly present a new rollercoaster Revolution. Enthusiasts were able to closely follow the transformation through a five-part video series about the work. The iconic attraction with the longest rollercoaster train in the world (56 meters) turns 35 years old. Bobbejaanland pumped 1 million euros into the renovation of the attraction.
“The queue was completely tackled, the station was renovated and the lighting effects in the track were replaced and expanded,” says Yves Peeters, general manager at Bobbejaanland. “But that doesn’t mean that loyal fans will discover a whole new rollercoaster. On the contrary. The works were carried out with great respect for the attraction’s past. For example, the gondolas have been repainted in their original colors.” During the first hour on the opening day of Saturday, March 30, more than five hundred subscribers who registered for this will get the scoop on discovering the new Revolution.

Show program
In addition to the investments in the attractions, the show and entertainment program also receives the necessary attention in Bobbejaanland. “’t Plezantste Land has always been more than ‘just a park with attractions’,” says Peggy Verelst, commercial and creative director of the amusement park. “Our visitors expect a ‘holiday in a day’. That day must be packed with different experiences. We want to offer both adrenaline and the opportunity to de-stress in a beautiful, green and safe environment.”

Dinos
From Saturday April 6 to Sunday June 30, visitors will receive a special treat about dinosaurs. In the indoor Arena, adventurers can join Ranger Tom in search of more than thirty impressive dinosaurs. The exhibition is free of charge every day from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. An accompanying dinosaur hunt is also organized at those times. On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April, Bobbejaanland is organizing a weekend especially for teachers who want to check whether the exhibition is suitable for a school trip.

Diving show
The other classic, Indiana River water course, was already transformed last year into Terra Magma with a new story. A year later, Terra Magma is more popular than ever, according to Bobbejaanland. From Sunday, June 30 to Sunday, September 1, visitors can enjoy a twenty-minute diving show three times a day. The divers try to retrieve treasure from a shipwreck.
“It is the first time that Bobbejaanland is organizing a show where both the stage and the stands are built on the water,” says Peggy Verelst. “So the setting will be really unique. The presentation of a diving show is also new for the park. Five professional divers will not dive into a basin but directly into our beautiful pond. That’s quite special. The story is new and the decor is tailor-made.”
The musical Let’s Party show featuring Nickelodeon characters will also return to the theme park from Saturday, July 13 to Sunday, August 18. And from Saturday October 12 it will be time for Halloween again in Bobbejaanland.
