The Ministry of Health has handed over blood pressure monitors to health institutions, including frontline institutions such as the Regional Health Service (RGD), Medical Mission, the Dermatological Service, the Office for Public Health Care (BOG), the Youth Dental Care Foundation (JTV), as well as all hospitals.

This step was taken in response to the perceived need during several working visits by the ministry, where it was repeatedly reported that basic equipment was not functioning properly.

Based on this information, the ministry has started a number of small-scale projects to meet the needs of hospitals. The use of these blood pressure monitors will contribute to the well-being and health of care recipients.

This action coincides with the designation of May 2024 as Hypertension Awareness Month by the Ministry of Health. During this month, various activities will be undertaken to create awareness about high blood pressure and its consequences.

In addition to the blood pressure monitors, various posters and illustration materials have also been provided to hospitals and departments today, which will be displayed to inform both society and healthcare workers. These materials include instructions on how to measure blood pressure accurately, as well as general information about hypertension.

The Ministry recognizes that providing this information, in combination with properly functioning blood pressure monitors, will contribute to the ability of healthcare providers to perform accurate and reliable blood pressure measurements and thus also enable targeted and effective treatments for patients.
