They dreamed of having a child, but that was not financially feasible. Dries Clijsters and Yeliz Gijbels from the Genk cat café MAU had a clear goal in mind when Kamal Kharmach from ‘Anderman’s Affairs’ passed by. And look: now that the business is doing better, the couple welcomes a son. “No hairy legs this time, but two little hands.”

“When we heard that we couldn’t afford coffee with our gross salary, we were a bit shocked.” Kamal Kharmach’s visit was much needed for MAU, that much is clear. The couple had another dream, which they no longer wanted to postpone to the future: a desire to have children. “If we would have made more money faster, we would have started this earlier,” they said earlier.

After the passage of Kamal and Other people’s business the numbers in the cat café turned less red. “We have also applied almost all their tips.” With more breathing space, the couple could take the next step.

“Our first child, Arden, was born on Tuesday, March 26. He arrived a little earlier than planned, but everything is going well,” they write on Instagram. “We will be closed for the next few weeks to enjoy our new family.”
