At the major Gault&Millau Culinary Innovators Awards, Dimitri Beckers from C.Group (Hashotel, Century, Bar Bouffe, Odiel, Trentanove, Maison Mathis, Terland, Het Cordaat, Atelier V,…) was declared national winner on Monday evening. A handsome award for the Hasselt entrepreneur, who likes to stay out of the spotlight.

The jury had a detailed explanation ready for the choice of the Entrepreneur of the Year: “Dimitri Beckers demonstrates innovative, healthy, creative and growing entrepreneurship. With C.Group he is not only active in traditional catering, but also in cafeterias of hospitals and company restaurants. He creates accessible concepts that focus on experience and that are popular and successful because of their own profile.”

And the praise continued: “He is also no stranger to the hotel industry, including the expansion and renovation of Hassotel, making him the market leader in the Limburg capital. Bar Bouffe, the quality-driven chain of cafeterias in various hospitals, was opened for two years. voted in a row as the strongest grower (turnover, personnel and added value) among small companies in Limburg, and recently even won the Flemish top prize in that category.”

A fine distinction for the Limburg entrepreneur, who has been marketing numerous innovative and profitable catering concepts throughout his career. However, he never appears in the foreground and remains very modest about his success. Which does not alter the fact that a reward for his visionary approach is certainly appropriate.
