There was a lot at stake both top and bottom in the Premier League today. Earlier, Arsenal won against Bournemouth, a little later Burnley faced a potentially decisive match in the relegation battle against Newcastle. That turned out to be a real fiasco.

Hope for salvation

Kompany and co have been in a relegation spot all season, but due to some positive results in recent weeks, they have claimed salvation again.

Then today we had to deal with Newcastle, number seven (for this matchday) in the Premier League. No easy feat for The Clarets, but last week there was a nice draw at Manchester United, which is sixth.

Dramatic start kills Kompany and co

However, Burnley gave a poor impression at Turf Moor and was already KO’d before half-time by three visiting goals. The afternoon started well for The Clarets as relegated Sheffield actually took the lead against rival Nottingham Forest.

Forest would easily achieve the victory in the end, Burnley also got the 0-4 from Isak before the hour, and in the end they managed to save their honour, although that was mainly to cover up the blood. So it seems back to square one for Burnley, which will most likely drop back to The Championship.

What about Kompany?

It is still unclear whether this will be with Kompany at the helm. Our compatriot received a lot of praise last year, but is now under fire from at least some of the fans.
