Kasper Dolberg was named yesterday by Brian Riemer as the player who must stand up now. A potential champion maker. Because he doesn’t feel any pressure. And that’s just how it is. The Danish striker remains cool, also off the field.

Because he gave an interview again with ‘a smile’. “I just want to take responsibility,” he explains The newspapaer. “You cannot say that I should be Anderlecht’s only champion maker, but I know my role here.”

“It would be great to win the title. I once won one with Ajax and that is really the best feeling in the world. Er, after the birth of my twins. (laughs) It would be huge for the fans too.”

He also showed his cards for the future. Dolberg does not seem to have any immediate plans to leave. “Being able to hear the Champions League anthem in this stadium next year, competing in the best competition in the world… It’s something everyone would enjoy.”

Dolberg may have to score more for that. He wanted to improve his league record from Ajax – 16 goals – and is now at 14. But he has only scored once in the play-offs.

“Yet that record of 16 goals is still achievable, right? This season I have had good and less good periods. The coach has emphasized to me a few times that I sometimes need to put more intensity into my game. As an attacker, I can be more selfish at times. However, I often enjoy an assist as much as a goal.”
