It takes more than two hours to get to Pairi Daiza. Two readers reported this to us via the tip line 4040. Others also complained about the long waiting times on social media. “This is becoming an expensive joke,” it sounds.

The sun shining on a holiday, that’s all there is to it. “It’s just busy,” confirms spokesperson Jens Van Herp. But that obviously doesn’t make the frustration any less great. “We have been stuck in traffic jams for more than 2 hours with hundreds of people/cars. Pairi Daiza is not taking any action,” says Sarah De Broyer.

Her story is confirmed by testimonials on X and Facebook. “Hello Pairi Daiza, do you think it is normal that it takes us 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to the parking lot? And that without any communication at all? 44 euros per person, 11 euros for parking and then the time we lose in traffic jams: that is starting to become an expensive joke even for “the most beautiful zoo in Europe.” The man adds a little later that even after two hours there is no park in sight.

Marielle Van Uytvanck says via Facebook that she is standing still 6.5 kilometers from the final destination. Another unlucky person posted a photo of the small lanes leading to the zoo. It shows cars lining up bumper to bumper. “It is certain on all sides. We have made a U-turn,” he said.

“We have taken all necessary measures to accommodate the expected crowds,” responds Pairi Daiza spokesperson Jens Van Herp. Visitors therefore remain welcome. “If a stop on visitors is announced, my manager would inform me immediately. .”
