We had to wait a while, but the extended Ascension weekend finally seems to bring a few beautiful days together. On Sunday the mercury could even rise to 25 degrees in some places.

ThursdayIn the morning it was still gray in many places with low clouds and fog. The RMI even warned with code yellow for limited visibility in Brussels, East Flanders, Antwerp, Limburg and Flemish Brabant. Gradually, however, the morning gray lifts and it becomes partly cloudy everywhere. During the afternoon it will be quite sunny from the coast. The maximum temperatures are around 15 or 16 degrees at the sea and in the High Fens, and between 17 and 19 degrees in the other regions.

Friday it becomes quiet and soft with a sometimes veiled sun. During the day cumulus clouds will form, making it more likely to be partly cloudy. The maximum temperatures are between 17 or 18 degrees at the sea and in the High Ardennes and 20 or 21 degrees in most other regions.

Saturday it will be sunny with a mostly moderate easterly wind. Some cumulus clouds may form during the day. The maximum temperatures are between 20 and 23 degrees.

Also Sunday will be a beautiful, sunny and quite warm day. At the end of the day, thunderstorms develop in France, which can approach our border. The maximum temperatures are between 21 and 25 degrees.

Monday clouds are increasing and from France a shower zone, sometimes with thunder, will pass over our country. The maximum temperatures are between 18 and 22 degrees.

Tuesday It is changeable with a chance of some showers. The maximum temperatures are between 14 and 18 degrees with a usually moderate southerly wind.

High UV index

We will also have a high UV index in our country on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This index shows the effect of the strength of solar radiation on unprotected skin.

“On those days we have a UV index of 5 to 6. If you know that 7 is very high and 8 is exceptional for Belgium, you better be warned,” says Nicolas Roose of NoodweerBenelux. “We don’t always think about the sun’s rays during those first summer temperatures. But they will be very harmful to sensitive skin. You then run the risk of sunburn very quickly.”

So the message is to apply plenty of cream.
