The public prosecutor’s office is talking about a “well-known businessman”, who has already been accused of fraud, and who is now suspected of “ordering a murder”. The name of the suspect is not included in the press release, but it does contain a photo showing the suspect, his face blurred, and his facial features recognizable from Kolomoisky.

The Ukrainian media confirm that it concerns the magnate, who at 61 is one of the richest men in the country. He is accused of “ordering the murder of a law firm director.” It was a “personal revenge,” the public prosecutor said. The businessman hired “gang members”, it sounds.

Those gang members allegedly attacked the director, but were unable to kill him. “He was beaten and stabbed in the vital organs,” the prosecutor’s office said.

Ukrainian police said in another press release that the attack happened in Feodosija in 2003, in Russian-occupied Crimea. In September, Kolomoisky went to jail in a case of fraud and money laundering.

Kolomoisky supported Zelensky’s candidacy for president in 2019. He owned a television chain on which the current Ukrainian president became famous as a comedian.
