The ‘silent’ search for Arian yielded nothing during the night from Friday to Saturday. Detective services continued their search for the missing German boy on Saturday. The six-year-old comes from Bremervörde-Elm, a town between the cities of Bremen and Hamburg, and has been missing for five days.

The search services continue on and around the River Oste, a tributary of the Elbe. A police spokesperson announced this on Saturday. Other emergency services are combing the area between the city of Elm and the municipality of Oldendorf.

Arian disappeared on Monday evening and has been missing for five days. CCTV footage showed him entering a forest, which is where the search took place. Hundreds of people are helping to find the boy with autism, who does not speak and would probably not respond to calls from strangers. That is why a silent search was held during the night from Friday to Saturday. About 200 officers participated and searched for the boy in small groups, equipped with night vision goggles. Unfortunately, this was again unsuccessful.

The police spokesman said about 50 police officers had volunteered to help on Saturday. “They may have sacrificed their only free weekend,” the spokesperson said. Bundeswehr soldiers have also been deployed. Local residents are also joining in the search.

Tips

They all received a list of tips on how to deal with the autistic boy, who cannot speak himself but understands everything. It is better not to shout because that can scare him, as it says, for example. Then you should look out for twigs, leaves and grass that it may be feeding on. The family and investigators suspect that he covers his head when he rests somewhere, so the investigators are also advised to pay attention to large piles of leaves.

If found, it is recommended to treat him as an adult, not to touch him and to approach him at the same height as he is sitting or lying. Speaking to him should be done calmly. It is therefore important not to cheer when he is found.
