In Lier they are working towards the international Grand Prix. For their own audience, the Belgian participants must recognize them several in the international combinations. Patrick Jonkmans already kept the Belgian honor high in the 1.30m CSI1* Grand Prix. Guido Hornesch jumped to the win in the secondary class.
In the 1.30m CSI1* Grand Prix, nine combinations managed to keep their lead. In the end Patrick Jonkmans had to tolerate the Spaniard Mariano Martinez Bastida. Bastida won with the 10-year-old Conquest son, Habanero. Patrick Jonkmans followed at just over seven seconds with the 14-year-old BWP gelding, I Bay van het Langwater (Wiensender).
Jonkmans referred the German rider, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmerman with Jaloubet K VDL (Baloubet du Rouet). Just outside the podium, Samy Colman with Bianca III (Casall) was ahead of a Dutch force majeure. Yoni Van Santvoort completed the top five on the back of Ilandra (Up To Date).
In front of his own audience, Niels Fockaert and Oki d’Eclipse (Catoki) finished clear in ninth place. Frederic Vernaet followed with Orak D’Hamwyck (Tobago Z) in tenth place with one time penalty.
Guido Hornesch makes Brabançonne sound
Earlier Guido Hornesch jumped to victory in the 1.20m class with Non Such Z (Non Stop). Together with the gelding, the Belgian was about one second ahead of Saleh Bin Omayrah with Quasmo CK Z (Quasimodo Z). The podium of this one-star class was completed by the Dutch rider, Yoni Van Santvoort with Ileva S (Andiamo).
