The peloton races during the sixth stage of the Giro d’Italia 2024 in the area of Siena, the famous finish location of Strade Bianche. It is not entirely coincidental that the ride contains some gravel strips. But even if you exclude the Tuscan gravel roads from the course, the ride is anything but boring. The last hundred kilometers go up and down and there are hardly any flat kilometers.

The first strip around Vidritta is 4.4 kilometers long. There is barely 600 meters between the first two gravel zones. There is therefore no time to better position yourself, while having a good position seems crucial for the second sector. This contains the second categorized climb of the day with the Grotti (2.5 km at 6.0%). The third gravel zone to Pievina is 2.4 kilometers long and ends approximately 20 kilometers from the finish line.
