De Ligt: ‘It is a shame that the referee whistles’
Matthijs de Ligt is not happy with the action of referee Szymon Marciniak in the final minutes. De Ligt scored the important equalizer to force extra time, but by then the whistle had already blown for offside. Afterwards it is difficult to see from the images whether there was offside.

“If that is not obvious, you have to let the game continue,” De Ligt said after the match. “I think it’s a shame that he whistles, because these are the rules. They let play continue with Joselu’s second goal, even though it was almost offside. Why don’t they do that to us? That’s not possible, but it’s always easy to talk about the referee. Real won and they deserved it.”

Carlo Ancelotti can be proud. He is the first coach to reach the final of the Champions League six times. The 64-year-old Italian was already the coach who has won the Champions League most times with four trophies.

Borussia Dortmund can prepare for the final on Saturday, June 1. Real Madrid has been to the final eight times before and has always gone home with the cup. The last time was in 2022, when Real beat Liverpool.

Joselu is the hero at Real Madrid. In the 88th minute he scored the equalizer via the rebound, and a few minutes later the 34-year-old Spaniard scored again from close range.

Pislink were the Bayern Munich players, but nothing can be done about it. Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final.

Wednesday May 8 at 11:02 PM

Last! The final ticket is for Real Madrid after a thrilling showdown! Bayern Munich is dropping out.

Wednesday May 8 at 11:00 PM

90+13′ De Ligt thinks he will score the equalizer and thus become Bayern’s savior, but the whistle has already blown. So the hit doesn’t count.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:56 PM

90+10′ The nine minutes of injury time are over, but the ball is still rolling. Will Bayern get another chance?

Wednesday May 8 at 10:52 PM

dbcea05cc7.jpg

90+6′ Everything seemed to point to an extension, but Joselu had other plans. What a denouement to this semi-final. Bayern is still trying with all its might to force an extension.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:47 PM

90′ GOAL Real Madrid! 2-1

What is this?! Joselu taps in from close range to make it 2-1. The VAR checks for a long time to see if he is offside, but the Spaniard scores his second in accordance with the rules. What an escape from Real!

Wednesday May 8 at 10:44 PM

88′ GOAL Real Madrid! 1-1

Wow, Neuer was having a strong match, but he made a mistake here. The Bayern keeper lets Vínicius’ long shot slip out of his hands, after which Joselu thoughtfully taps in from the rebound. An extension seems to be coming!

Wednesday May 8 at 10:41 PM

82′ Lat! Phew, it’s a real pain in the ass! Kim Min-jae heads hard onto the crossbar from the corner. The game continues at lightning speed, after which Vínicius gets a chance at the other end. The Brazilian just misses a difficult cross from close range.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:36 PM

Is Davies’ goal the decisive one? In any case, he comes in a nice list with his beautiful goal. Davies is only the seventh Canadian international to score in the million-dollar event. He is even the first to do this in the knockout phase.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:29 PM

Goal disallowed! Real seemed to quickly level the score thanks to Bayern’s own goal, but the VAR ruled out the goal. The ball went into the goal via a Bayern leg, but Real’s Nacho pushed Kimmich over in the box moments before. So no goal.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:28 PM

72′ GOAL Real Madrid! 1-1

Wednesday May 8 at 10:24 PM

68′ GOAL Bayern Munich! 0-1

Bayern Munich takes the lead against all odds! And how! Alphonso Davies receives a wonderful pass through the air from Harry Kane. The substitute cuts out his opponent outside the box and curls the ball in beautifully. Real immediately makes two substitutions. Camavinga and Modric come on for Tchouameni and Kroos.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:24 PM

66′ On the other end, a nonchalant save from Lunin. The Real goalie doesn’t even dirty his clothes when he blocks Musiala’s hard shot.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:18 PM

60′ And it’s Neuer again! Vínicius with a nice individual action, after which he scores from the penalty spot. Neuer prevents the 1-0 with a cat-like reflex.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:16 PM

59′ Neuer once again makes a good save. Rodrygo aims for a free kick, but the German goalie easily flies to the top right corner and keeps his team on their feet again. This way we are heading for penalties.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:14 PM

56 ‘Wow, this time Vínicius De Ligt is outsmarted. With a clever cutting movement he puts the ball in front of Rodrygo, but his compatriot taps just wide from close range.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:12 PM

2518bf3701.jpg

It’s a pleasure to watch TV. One certainly cannot complain in the stadium.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:10 PM

52′ De Ligt gives a good calling card. Vínicius chases Kimmich, after which he delivers a dangerous cross from the back line. De Ligt prevents a Real player from lashing out by hitting the ball hard. Danger passed, for now…

Wednesday May 8 at 10:07 PM

48 ‘But Bayern certainly does not give up yet. Davies sprints towards Real’s goal and delivers a shot from an awkward angle. The ball just flies over Neuer’s goal via a defender.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:04 PM

47 ‘While Real coach Carlo Ancelotti takes a swipe, Vínicius dribbles towards Bayern’s goal. It doesn’t create a great chance, but Real immediately shows attacking play again.

Wednesday May 8 at 10:02 PM

46′ Kick-off second half! The match is underway again. The question is whether the match will be decided in the next 45 minutes. We are going to extend this position.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:58 PM

The statistics leave nothing to the imagination. Real Madrid is the parent party. Kane caused the greatest Bayern danger with this long shot.
  • Real Madrid-Bayern Munich
  • Ball possession: 56-44 percent
  • Goal attempts: 8-2
  • Shots on goal: 2-2
  • Corners: 3-1

Wednesday May 8 at 9:47 PM

Peace! The first 45 minutes are over. Real Madrid has the upper hand at home, but has not yet been able to translate this into the score. It will be an exciting second half, but first tea for the players.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:46 PM

Beautiful save from Neuer. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper naturally hopes to keep a clean sheet tonight and is well on his way. If he succeeds, he will be the first visiting goalkeeper at this stadium to keep a clean sheet in the CL knockout stages since FC Barcelona goalkeeper Víctor Valdés in April 2011.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:42 PM

40′ What a save from Neuer! Vínicius’ cross from the left goes through, but the German goalie is quick to tap the ball away. Neuer keeps Bayern on their feet in this match.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:29 PM

30′ What a spectacle! On the one hand, Vínicius tries with a bicycle kick, on the other hand, Kane is almost accurate for Bayern with a long shot. Lunin flies to the bottom left corner just in time to prevent the 0-1.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:28 PM

28′ Ai ai, bad news for Bayern. Serge Gnabry has to leave the field injured, Alphonso Davies is his replacement.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:23 PM

23′ Next chance for Real. Rodrygo rushes to Bayern’s box and crosses it for Vínicius, but the Brazilian lets the ball bounce off his foot. Gone opportunity.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:22 PM

‘Why is that pole there?!’, you see Vínicius Júnior thinking in frustration. Bayern just got away with that very well. In any case, Real makes a more confident impression than last week, when it was mainly Bayern’s turn.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:15 PM

13′ Post! Even the camera couldn’t follow this quick throw-in from Real. This smart action allows Vínicius Júnior to take a shot from close range, but the post prevents the Madrid team from scoring. With a nice save, Neuer prevents a goal from the rebound.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:11 PM

2f1ef20712.jpg

Lo and behold, there are already the first match images. De Ligt got away well, Rodrygo was only a toe length short of scoring the opening goal.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:09 PM

7′ Well, De Ligt can breathe a sigh of relief! The defender sees in front of his nose that Rodrygo is just short of sliding in a low cross. Real’s first dangerous moment.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:05 PM

5′ Real Madrid have their turn in the first few minutes, but it has not yet become more dangerous than a corner kick.

Wednesday May 8 at 9:01 PM

1′ Kick-off! The ball is rolling in Madrid! The previous match ended 2-2, who will be the second finalist next to Borussia Dortmund?

Wednesday May 8 at 8:56 PM

The players are ready in the catacombs, just a few more minutes and we can go!

Wednesday May 8 at 8:56 PM

While Vínicius Júnior dribbles his legs loose, we dive into some nice statistics. It is the 28th meeting between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. This makes Real Madrid-Bayern the most common poster in a European context. Real won twelve of the meetings, Bayern won eleven and the match ended in a draw four times.

Wednesday May 8 at 8:46 PM

Harry Kane is always looking for goals, but maybe a little extra tonight. If the striker scores his thirtieth Champions League goal, he will equal Wayne Rooney as the most scoring English player in this competition.

Wednesday May 8 at 8:36 PM

The question is how fit the Real players will be at the start. The Madrilenians secured the 36th national title in club history on Saturday, but we did not see images like those at PSV at Real. The players held back from a modest party in the dressing room at Bayern because of the crack.

Wednesday May 8 at 8:30 PM

The last Bayern fans are on their way to the stadium in Madrid. The atmosphere is good!

Wednesday May 8 at 8:21 PM

f6f28addd2.jpg

It will undoubtedly be a treat tonight in Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. The previous match ended 2-2, so both teams have to work hard. We can’t wait!

Wednesday May 8 at 8:19 PM

1f4d2289e8.jpg

Nice milestone for Toni Kroos. The 34-year-old German will play his 150th (!) Champions League match tonight. Kroos is only the seventh player to reach this milestone and also only the second German, next to his former teammate Thomas Müller.

Setups! Matthijs de Ligt has made it to the race against the clock! The Dutch international had to miss the first match due to a knee injury, but will be in the starting line-up tonight.

Line-up Bayern Munich: Neuer; Kimmich, De Ligt, Dier, Mazraoui; Laimer, Pavlovic; Sane, Musiala, Gnabry; Kane
Real Madrid line-up: Lunin; Carvajal, Rudiger, Nacho, Mendy; Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Kroos; Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior

Last week the match between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid ended in a 2-2 draw. The Madrid people in particular would have been happy with that. Bayern seemed to be heading for a victory, but thanks to a late goal from Vinícius Júnior, Real drew level.
