Amsterdam | Police remove the last demonstrators from the site
The last demonstrators leave the Binnengasthuis grounds accompanied by the police. On images of AT5 it can be seen that the demonstrators are then free to leave.

Amsterdam | Amnesty International observers present at eviction
Human rights organization Amnesty International is present with several observers at the evacuation of the Binnengasthuis site. A spokesperson said that the police had given them sufficient space to do their work. The observers collect information and images of the evacuation. They also answer some questions from demonstrators.

According to the spokesperson, it is too early to make any further statements about how the police will clear the site. “We collect information so that we have facts at our disposal to enter into discussions with the local authority,” says the spokesperson.

Amsterdam | Local resident angry with demonstrators
Meanwhile, a local resident climbs onto the barricades and shouts in frustration at the demonstrators who are surrounded. “Do you think that’s normal?” the man shouts. He points to the barricades and rubble. “How much do you think all this costs?”

The man concludes with a curse on the demonstrators. In response, they use some slogans and shout: “We are people, what are you?”

Amsterdam | Occupiers are taken away in groups
The police are now escorting the occupiers off the site in groups. It’s in the images of AT5 I can’t see where they will be taken, but there are probably buses waiting. Most occupiers participate themselves.

Amsterdam | Protesters are on Rokin to stop arresting buses
A group of demonstrators sat down on the Rokin. In this way they try to stop the detainee buses that drive back and forth to the occupied Binnengasthuis site. Police officers hit several demonstrators on the Rokin with batons after they had asked them several times to leave the Rokin.

Ambulances are present during the evacuation. Two activists were examined by ambulance personnel. According to AT5 it was because they became unwell. It wasn’t so serious that they had to be taken away. Furthermore, the ambulance personnel were not examined.

Amsterdam | Building smeared from the inside by activists
The Amsterdam Academic Club on the Binnengasthuis grounds has been left defaced and soiled by the activist group. There are piles of food and water bottles, sanitary towels and other hygienic products and face masks. Mattresses and sleeping bags were also left behind.

The walls of the room are defaced with texts such as ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Ceasefire now’. A lawyer’s number is also chalked on the walls. There are also cardboard signs with a map of the Binnengasthuis grounds and the barricades and a grid. A cardboard sign has been hung in the toilet with ‘Please do not pee standing up’.

Utrecht | Students very shocked

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators have also gathered in Utrecht. They first stood on Domplein, where the Academy Building of Utrecht University is located. Now these demonstrators are walking towards the University Library on the Drift.

Last night, students occupied the library courtyard with a tent camp. The police cleared that occupation during the night.
