Anyone who has a subscription to Netflix in Belgium will have to pay 1 to 2 euros more for it. This is evident from new rates that the American streaming service announced on Wednesday. The last time Netflix increased the price of its formulas in Belgium was in October 2021.

The basic formula – where users can watch films and series on one screen at the same time – increases by 1 euro, from 8.99 to 9.99 euros per month. Anyone who wants to be able to watch on two screens at the same time will now pay EUR 14.99 monthly instead of EUR 13.49. The most expensive subscription – up to four screens at the same time – has the largest price increase, by 2 euros to 19.99 euros per month. The price to add an additional household to an account remains unchanged at 3.99 euros.

Unlike in some neighboring countries, Netflix does not (yet) introduce a cheaper basic subscription with advertising in Belgium. Such a formula is already available in Germany and France, for 4.99 euros and 5.99 euros per month respectively.

Compared to our neighboring countries, Belgian prices are often higher. In the Netherlands, all formulas are currently 1 euro cheaper than here, and in Germany and France users also pay less for the standard formula. The premium subscription is just as expensive in the last two countries as it is in ours.
