Amsterdam | Demonstranten zitten op Rokin om arrestantenbussen tegen te houden
Een groep demonstranten is op het Rokin gaan zitten. Zo proberen zij de arrestantenbussen tegen te houden die heen en weer naar het bezette Binnengasthuisterrein rijden. ME’ers hebben verschillende demonstranten op het Rokin met wapenstokken geslagen, nadat zij hen meerdere keren hadden verzocht om van het Rokin te vertrekken.

Ambulances are present during the evacuation. Two activists were examined by ambulance personnel. According to AT5 it was because they became unwell. It wasn’t so serious that they had to be taken away. Furthermore, the ambulance personnel were not examined.

The Amsterdam Academic Club on the Binnengasthuis grounds has been left defaced and soiled by the activist group. There are piles of food and water bottles, sanitary towels and other hygienic products and face masks. Mattresses and sleeping bags were also left behind.
The walls of the room are defaced with texts such as ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Ceasefire now’. A lawyer’s number is also chalked on the walls. There are also cardboard signs with a map of the Binnengasthuis grounds and the barricades and a grid. A cardboard sign has been hung in the toilet with ‘Please do not pee standing up’.

Demonstrators have been standing in front of a narrow gate for several minutes now to prevent the police from entering further into the site. The riot police stood opposite the group for a while and talked to the demonstrators. Now they are trying to clear the gate and arrest some protesters.

Shovel and riot police are ready near occupied UvA grounds
About twenty police and mobile unit vans are stationed near the barricade. There is also a shovel ready that is driven by a police officer, a reporter from the news agency sees ANP. A police spokesperson says that the triangle has not yet given an evacuation order.
