(ABM FN-Dow Jones) The US government has revoked licenses, meaning technology companies such as Qualcomm and Intel may no longer be able to supply chips to China’s Huawei. The Financial Times reported this on Wednesday based on sources.
The US Department of Economic Affairs confirmed to the British business newspaper that it had revoked certain licenses, but did not say which companies were involved.
The revoked licenses will affect the Chinese telecom company’s supply of chips for laptops and mobile phones, the sources said.
Qualcomm did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the FT, and Intel declined to comment.
