A 36-year-old man has been charged with murder in the UK after a 14-year-old boy was killed in a sword attack in east London earlier this week. The Spanish-Brazilian national will appear in British court on Thursday.

The man, Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, first drove a van into a fence early Tuesday morning in the London suburb of Hainault and then attacked two people with a sword. Fourteen-year-old Daniel Anjorin, who was on his way to school, was killed. Four other people, including two police officers, were injured.

Monzo has also been charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary and possession of a stabbing weapon.

Monzo is said to have killed the teenager before seriously wounding two police officers when they tried to stop him. One of the officers almost lost her hand.
