HOOGERHEIDE – Today, Mayor Adriaansen presented eight residents of Woensdrecht with a Royal Decoration during the General Occasion 2024, also known as the Ribbon Rain. The second person who was surprised this day is Paula Wigmans-Mouwen (60) from Hoogerheide, just at her home.

Mrs. Wigmans-Mouwen, appointed Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau, was secretary at Scouting Hoogerheide from 1993 to 2023. In addition to her board position, she also went to camp for years to cook. She also ensured that the Scouting building remained clean, maintained contact with parents, arranged registrations and mail and was always involved in activities that were organized such as sponsored tours and group days. Prior to her position as secretary, she was a leader at the ‘Gidsen’ game branch between 1979 and 1992. Partly because of her years of intensive commitment to scouting, many children and young people from our municipality have been able to participate in fun activities, make friendships, gain respect for nature and learn both practical and social skills.

On behalf of the Woensdrechtse Bode, congratulations on this Royal Award!
