“Bad publicity is also publicity,” say marketing gurus. Bad may not be quite the right word, but Alfa Romeo came across as somewhat amateurish by changing the name of the Milano to Junior. After the new name, the Dutch price of the Alfa Romeo Junior has now also been announced. This is what you pay for the first electric Alfa Romeo.
If you don’t want to completely plug in yet, there is a hybrid Junior ‘Ibrida’. The prices of this car will be announced at a later date. So we focus here only on the electric versions. There are three of these at release: the entry-level, the Speciale and the Veloce. The Juniors will be available at Dutch Alfa dealers from September.
The price of the cheapest Alfa Romeo Junior
The entry-level Junior gets 156 hp and 260 Nm from a single electric motor. This makes a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds and the top speed is 150 km/h. A 54-kWh battery provides 400 kilometers of driving range. This cheapest Alfa Romeo Junior costs minimal 39,000 euros. This means that it falls within the SEPP scheme, which means that you only pay 36,050 euros as a private individual.
In terms of positioning, the Alfa is slightly more expensive than the cheapest Peugeot e-2008, which is otherwise the same in terms of technology. The technically identical Fiat 600E is slightly cheaper, at a price of 35,990 euros. For 41,000 euros you get the Junior Speciale with the Progresso logo in the grille, matte trim elements, 18-inch wheels, vinyl and fabric upholstery, a leather-covered steering wheel and an electrically operated driver’s seat with massage function.

How much does the fastest Alfa Romeo Junior cost?
The strongest and fastest Junior is called ‘Veloce’. There is still one electric motor, but now it produces 240 hp and 345 Nm. This increases the 0-100 time to 6 seconds and the top speed to 200 km/h. Furthermore, this Junior has a sportier setup with a limited-slip diff, an extra large track, a lowered suspension and stronger brakes. The price of the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce starts at 48,000 euros, so you don’t get any pocket money from the state.
