Market month: wheelbarrows and alarm clocks ensure the prices (Boom)

The Month of the Market is colored in a fun way in Boom. Every week a winner can scour the market with a wheelbarrow. In addition, there is an extra ‘alarm clock promotion’ and BeleefBoomBons are also being given away.

“A campaign like this is ideal to motivate residents to shop locally and buy local products,” says Alderman of Local Economy Tom Dewandelaere (Samen2850). “With this promotion we want to put our market vendors and especially the visitors themselves in the spotlight.”

“We are cheating a bit in Boom, because we start a week later, but we will continue until May,” the alderman laughs. “On Thursdays April 11, 18 and 25 and Thursday May 2, all visitors to the market will receive a participation form. From all those who deposit their form in the urn in the town hall, a winner will be drawn who will be allowed to walk through the market with the wheelbarrow the following week. Our market vendors will then place free products in your wheelbarrow.”

“On Thursday, April 18, there will be an additional ‘alarm clock promotion’. If the alarm goes off when you are at a market stall, you will also receive a free gift from the trader. At the end of the campaign, another twenty people will be drawn from the bus with all the forms. They will all receive a BeleefBoomBon of 25 euros.”
