A reboot of Perfect Dark announced, but since then little has actually come out about the game, except for the occasional news that mainly made it clear that development is not really going smoothly.
Following the closure of several Bethesda studios by Microsoft, the Perfect Dark reboot was once again mentioned by the Giant Bombcast of May 7. Journalists Jeff Grubb and Alex Donaldson made it clear that the reboot is still in a “very rough state” after all these years and that development feels like a heavy stone being rolled up a mountain.
Donaldson even said that he has some “crazy stories” about the development of the Perfect Dark reboot, but he hasn’t shared them yet out of respect for the team working to make the game a reality.
The information from Grubb and Donaldson ties in with previous rumors about the new Perfect Dark. For example, there was already talk about a “mess” that continues to be stretched. It is therefore very questionable whether the Perfect Dark reboot will ever happen, and if so, in what condition.
