It’s been a while since we were able to play something new from Moon Studios, the maker of our much-loved Ori games. After more than four years, they finally thought it was time to release a new game. The name is No Rest for The Wicked. It’s something completely different from Ori. Instead of platform action, you can now get started with an action RPG. And that creates quite a bit of enthusiasm among the editors, especially Kevin. After all, he is someone with a preference for smaller indie games. And we can classify this game as one of those. In this video Kevin and Koos discuss what the game has in store for you. How good are the story, combat mechanics & graphics? Or would the people at Moon Studios have been better off sticking to the Ori franchise? You hear and see it in the No Rest for the Wicked review.

No Rest for the Wicked Review: Diablo meets Path of Exile with a pinch of soulslike

At first you wash up on a beach like a ‘Cerim fighter’ without any equipment. You immediately have to defeat enemies with combat that feels quite soul-like. What further enriches the game is the presence of exploration and survival elements, such as collecting resources and clothing. You visit the Sacrament, the central hub, where you can relax, upgrade your gear and skills and choose missions. The atmosphere of the game seems quite dark at first glance, making it somewhat reminiscent of games like Diablo and Path of Exile. How does this mix work? Kevin and Koos are going to tell you.

The game world is completely handmade

A striking detail is that the game world is made by hand, which gives the game a beautiful, picturesque appearance. What is Kevin and Koos’ final assessment? Do they recommend that you buy it, or should you ignore the game for the time being or even permanently?
