The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 has won two BAFTA Television Craft Awards. The winners were announced on Sunday evening during a ceremony in London. The Television Craft Awards are the awards given by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in the behind-the-scenes categories.
The final of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Liverpool last year on May 14, because Ukraine could not host the event due to the war with Russia. The Swedish Loreen won the song festival for the second time. The broadcast won BAFTAs in the Director: Multi-camera and Entertainment Craft Team categories.
An episode of Black Mirror called Demon 79, Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland, Silo and Slow Horses also won two BAFTAs each. For example, Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland received a BAFTA in the Original Music: Factual category and the sound team behind Slow Horses received the Sound: Fiction award.
The BAFTA for Director: Factual went to Peter Beard and Bruce Fletcher for Otto Baxter: Not a F***ing Horror Story, while Peter Hoar won the Director: Fiction award for The Last of Us.
The regular BAFTA Television Awards ceremony is on Sunday, May 12.
