Last two weekends, Lana Del Rey shone on the Coachella stage as one of the headliners. But because her set ran thirteen minutes late on the second weekend, she may now cause the organization to pay a large fine.

It happens almost every year: a headliner that goes on longer than the agreed end time. However, Coachella has very strict curfews, which means that they receive a hefty fine for every minute they go over them. Lana Del Rey went on for thirteen minutes longer on Friday, April 19, costing the festival no less than $28,000, reports TMZ.

The end times of the festival are very strict, on Friday and Saturday it can continue until 1 o’clock and on Sunday until 12 o’clock. If an artist continues for 5 minutes longer, the organization will be fined $20,000, with an additional $1,000 for each minute after that. Thirteen minutes will indeed cost the festival a total of $28,000. The money from the fine will go to a general fund for the city of Indio. This fund is used to finance various city projects.

Fines in the past

This is not the first time that the organization has received a fine, but it is a lot less than last year, for example. In 2023, the organization was fined a total of $117,000 because all headline performances in the first weekend took place longer than 20 minutes after the agreed end time.
