In our country, the transfer market is still open, but Deadline Day was an important day for many Belgian clubs. Because the market did close in most other countries, it was the last chance to get rid of a number of players. At Anderlecht, for example, they found a solution for Mustapha Bundu in the nick of time.
The attacker from Sierra Leone returned to Neerpede this summer after being loaned out to Aarhus GF last season. With three goals and two assists in 22 games, he could not have convinced there again, but nevertheless Bundu was still allowed to try to put himself in the spotlight of Felice Mazzu in the preparation. He had him show up in a number of practice matches, but ultimately had no plans with the flop purchase.
Bundu was therefore allowed to look for a new club again and he found one on Thursday evening. This time he opts for a Spanish adventure, because he moves to FC Andorra on a rental basis. That club is a newcomer to the Spanish second division and is best known because Barcelona star Gerard Piqué became the owner a few years ago.
In the summer of 2020, Anderlecht put almost 3 million euros on the table to take Bundu away from Aarhus, but the attacker completely flopped. He didn’t get past eleven matches in the main squad without being involved in a goal. After six months, Bundu was already loaned out to FC Copenhagen and last season he was placed at Aarhus again. He still has a contract with RSCA until 2024.
