Genk

Wouter Vrancken was in Genk on Thursday morning only to say goodbye to the playing group and part of his staff. The training was led by Domenico Olivieri, Michel Ribeiro and Eddy Vanhemel.

It looks like Wouter Vrancken will take his assistants Kevin Van Dessel and Glenn Vanryckeghem to AA Gent. They already came with him from KV Mechelen. Just like video analyst Jan Boden, with whom the collaboration was also terminated. Discussions are still ongoing with Jan Wuytens.

Assistant Domenico Olivieri becomes interim coach for the fourth time, he is assisted by Michel Ribeiro. They are expected to complete the season. They are supported by Eddy Vanhemel, who last month – after a trip to Lommel SK and OH Leuven – returned to KRC Genk as head of football and coach development, a position in which he has to monitor the club’s football principles at the academy.

Striking: Vanhemel already took over as interim coach at OH Leuven this season. He was on the bench as a temporary successor to Marc Brys against STVV, Anderlecht and Westerlo. (mg)
