Mark van Bommel will no longer be a trainer of Royal Antwerp FC next year. That could well cause a strong exodus from the reigning national champions.
Mark van Bommel still has a contract for next season with the champion and cup winner, but he will not end it. The Dutchman will look elsewhere after this season. That could well cause a domino effect.
The departure of Van Bommel may mean that many players will move to another club, although it is also possible that the trainer will take one or more players with him to his new employer.
According to Patrick Goots, it could well be that Vincent Janssen is one of the lucky ones to work with Van Bommel again, but at a different club. Bayern Munich, but Feyenoord are mentioned as Van Bommel’s new employer.
No Netherlands for Janssen
Vincent Janssen is certain about one thing. “I previously indicated that I would never play in the Netherlands again,” he laughs in Het Nieuwsblad. You can certainly delete the Feyenoord option for Janssen.
Janssen is also looking forward to what Van Bommel will do, because the two enjoyed working together. “No, I don’t know what he’s going to do. I have a good relationship with the trainer – the best coach I have ever worked with. I feel very good with him. I would find his departure a shame,” the Dutchman concludes.
