During the last training on Tuesday morning, Nicky Hayen’s players seemed relaxed. It almost had the atmosphere as if they were preparing for a normal match, as if Sint-Truiden, for example, were coming to visit the next day. But on Wednesday it will be important to get the nerves under control.

“How am I going to keep my boys’ feet on the ground? By staying sober myself,” Hayen said, shrugging his shoulders. “I’m getting a lot of messages from family and friends now. But I won’t answer them all until next week. With apologies, of course.”

“You could say that I also had no experience with European competitions, but in Greece we did it together. The group is very hungry and eager to put in a good performance. I am relaxed. We always want to win, and tomorrow should be the next win in that series. We want to continue our momentum.”
