Brentford was able to complete the transfer of Igor Thiago last winter. The Club Brugge striker will move to the Premier League in the summer for 37 million euros (including bonuses).

But immediately after his transfer was announced, the striker fell into a serious dip. He no longer scored and even shots on goal became very difficult.

Ultimately, Thiago seems to be getting back on track during the play-offs. He is scoring again and is returning to his good form. He can be invaluable at Club on Wednesday during the important match against Fiorentina in the Conference League.

At least at Brentford they do not regret the transfer. “We brought in Thiago because of several aspects,” said Brenford Director of Football Phil Giles at Het Laatste Nieuws.

“His physical strength is incredible. His pressing is equally so. His work force is enormous. That’s where his attitude comes in handy. He’s a nice boy who dares to knock on the table when necessary.”

“Igor will always and everywhere commit himself. I think that is also the reason why Club Brugge sold him before the end of the season. They were confident that he would not drop out mentally, precisely because he is not that good. “It is an important quality of Thiago, and also one of the reasons why we pushed to get him,” he concludes.
