Fabio Jakobsen is looking forward to the third stage of the Giro d’Italia. After the tough opening weekend, today it is finally up to the sprinters. Although the Dutchman emphasizes before the start that it is not an easy arrival in Fossano.

“The first two stages were tough, but we got through it okay,” Jakobsen says in front of the camera Cycling Pro Net. “Now we are going for the first sprint opportunity. So yeah, I’m happy to be here.”

“It’s a tough final, with a mile and a half uphill and then a sprint. It also depends on what you have left in your legs. I will certainly try, but the level is high and it also depends on the form of the day.”

Tobias Lund Andresen
Jakobsen is the sprinter at DSM-firm PostNL, but the Dutch formation also has Tobias Lund Andresen on hand. The Dane won no fewer than three stages in the Tour of Turkey. “I have to do the sprint, but in Turkey I also showed that I can do it Tobi can leave it, if the legs are not very good. Today is fifty-fifty. He is also in good shape. A finish like this should also be possible for him, but this is not the Tour of Turkey, this is the Giro. So we will first go for option one and then see what happens.”
