Beerschot has had a long board of directors. The mandate of Thorsten Theys was confirmed. He will be responsible for the daily management of the club together with Gunther Dieltjens. Nothing has yet been decided about the share structure. A shareholders’ meeting will follow later.

Beerschot has confirmed through its own channels that a meeting of the board of directors has taken place. “We emphasize that it was a meeting of the board of directors and not a shareholders’ meeting as stated in the press. The board of directors discussed various topics for 2h30. Thorsten Theys’ mandate was confirmed. He is tasked with planning the upcoming financial investments. This appointment was confirmed by a majority of votes. Director Gunther Dieltjens was unanimously appointed to support Thorsten Theys in this process. This includes the daily operation, the follow-up of the license file and the preparations for the 24-25 season.”

Furthermore, it was also agreed that the shareholders will convene a shareholders’ meeting “in the coming days”. “The board will develop a budget proposal for 1A that must be approved by the shareholders. The shareholders will also communicate further with each other about the possibility of selling the club and/or shares. The board further accepted the resignation of Francis Vrancken as chairman. Further communication will follow after the upcoming shareholders’ meeting.”
