The exodus at Manchester United? According to ‘BBC’, the club is willing to listen to almost any offer for just about any player this summer. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new sporting boss, wants to make United the top club of the past again. Something that is almost impossible with this core.

The period when United consistently competed for the Premier League title is long behind us. They are currently sixth in their own league and will almost certainly miss out on a ticket for the Champions League.

According to ‘BBC’, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the INEOS boss who co-owns the club and is in charge of the sporting management, wants to bring United back to where it belongs. But that must be done with a different selection. That is why United would be prepared to study almost all offers it receives this summer, in order to go through the core for the first time with a broad brush.

However, some players would be exempt. They would rather keep Marcus Rashford, and Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho also seem to be safe. Bruno Fernandes, Andre Onana and Diogo Dalot need a strong offer if they want to listen. But otherwise everyone seems to be able to leave just like that.

Muscles

However, there are doubts whether United will be able to keep clean. Simply because there may not be enough interest. And also because United will not be able to receive the large sums. The last time they raised more than £20 million (€23.5 million) was for Daniel James to Leeds. It’s been three years now. Not really fitting for a top club that Manchester United is supposed to be.

Little income also means little expenditure, given the balance that must be maintained by the financial fair play rules. That is why sources within the club report to BBC that they can only really flex their muscles from the 2025/26 season. Possibly also without Erik ten Hag, the coach who is hotly debated.
