Dorian Godon (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team) showed himself to be the best on Sunday in the final stage of the Tour de Romandie (WorldTour). The overall victory went to Spaniard Carlos Rodriguez (INEOS Grenadiers).
The 27-year-old Frenchman made it after 150.8 km in and around Vernier (Geneva) in a sprint with a large group ahead of the Italian Simone Consonni (Lidl-Trek) and the New Zealander Dion Smith (Intermarché-Wanty). It is Godon’s second stage victory in this Tour de Romandie, after winning the opening stage in Fribourg on Wednesday. In the final stage, three Belgians finished in the top ten: Thibau Nys (sixth), Milan Menten (eighth) and Gianni Vermeersch (tenth). Nys had taken care of the second stage on Thursday.

Nothing changed in the rankings on Sunday. Rodriguez takes the overall victory ahead of the BORA-hansgrohe duo, the Russian Aleksandr Vlasov and the German Florian Lipowitz. With Ilan Van Wilder (Soudal Quick-Step), a fellow countryman finished in fourth place. Rodriguez succeeds the British Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates) on the honors list in Switzerland. This year he did not get further than thirteenth place.
