A new Sunday, a new opportunity for the title pretenders to deliver a blow to their opponents. For Imke Courtois, there are only three more teams that are eligible for the main jay.
The team in form is of course Club Brugge. “Club also plays football on a cloud, right? What they achieved against Genk on Wednesday was quite a statement, wasn’t it? And Union is back,” Courtois said in De Zondag.
“I maintain that Club or Union have the best chance. Also because Anderlecht is now also saddled with injuries. I fear that their core is just not wide enough to absorb all that.”
Although today things could turn out completely differently. “We may have to speak differently on Sunday evening. I think it is now only between Anderlecht, Club and Union, with Genk, Antwerp and Cercle as referees.”
However, Genk still has a lot of motivation. “There are always surprises in the play-offs. And Antwerp can count on the cup final for a European ticket, but Genk cannot.”
Key players Thiago and Amoura have also started scoring at Club and Union. “Club Brugge didn’t really do much in the previous matches apart from Thiago’s scoring problem, right? But of course it is an extra asset for Club.”
