From 2025 onwards, Trek will no longer be the main sponsor on the jerseys of the Baloise Trek Lions cross team. The American bicycle manufacturer will not extend its expiring agreement as main sponsor with the formation of Sven Nys, Nys himself says in The newspapaer.

Trek succeeded Telenet as one of the team’s main sponsors in 2020. It helped Sven Nys out of trouble, but he never actually had the ambition to act as main sponsor for a longer period of time. Trek will remain involved with the team as a material partner and will still appear on the jerseys, but not as prominently as is now the case.

“We are the best team in the UCI rankings, we have several of the better riders on board. So I assume that, together with the people of Golazo, we will succeed in finding new partners. If that doesn’t work, then not only we, but the cross in general has a problem,” says Nys in the Belgian newspaper.

Nys has retained his four leaders for some time now: Pim Ronhaar, Thibau Nys, Joris Nieuwenhuis and Lars van der Haar. The other name sponsor, Baloise, is also fixed until 2026.
