Anderlecht was on a cloud last week after a hard-fought victory against the black beast Union gave them the lead, but they suffered a heavy blow again last weekend. After all, a particularly mediocre RSCA lost in Genk, which means it sees the competition coming closer.

The Purple & White remains in the lead, but sees Club Brugge closing in on two points. Union still has three points, while Genk has four points. Anderlecht are still in good shape, but they cannot afford too many missteps.

Anderlecht can count on Debast again

Things will have to pick up again on Wednesday evening when Cercle Brugge visits the Lotto Park. It remains to be seen which starting eleven Brian Riemer will send out to pasture. In any case, the Danish trainer is tinkering with his selection.

This is partly because he can once again count on Zeno Debast at the back. The young Red Devil served a suspension in Genk after his red card against Union, but is now eligible to play again. As a result, Lapage disappears from the competition.

N’Diaye is also finally back

Moussa N’Diaye also makes his return to the selection. The 21-year-old left back was sidelined for a long time with a hamstring injury, but is now fit again. He already played with RSCA Futures last week and is now in the squad for the first time since the turn of the year.

This is at the expense of Amadou Diawara, who is passed over. After all, Riemer has more than enough options in midfield. Verschaeren is still out, but he can choose from Leoni, Rits, Delaney, Stroeykens, Ashimeru and Arnstad.
