INTERVIEWS Anderlecht’s midfield has already performed better this season, but Majeed Ashimeru will not be the white rabbit that suddenly provides the solution. “Majeed can have more impact as a substitute at the moment,” said coach Brian Riemer. “I see him as a super sub.”

“Majeed had a terrible season due to injuries,” Riemer said at his press conference yesterday. “At the moment he can have more impact as a substitute than as a starter. It’s a big difference playing 30 minutes when everyone is starting to get tired or 60 to 70 minutes when everyone is at full strength.”

“It is now up to me, with six matches to go, to find out how we can get the best out of each player. I currently see Majeed more as a super-sub, as someone who comes on and makes the difference. I say that Not that it is not possible that he will start one day, but now my feeling is that he can be more valuable as a substitute.”
