Bart Verhaeghe speaks out about (remaining of) Nicky Hayen as coach of Club Brugge and… sneers very hard at Ronny Deila – Football News

--

With the performance of Club Brugge, Nicky Hayen is gradually ensuring that Bart Verhaeghe can no longer ignore him when appointing the new coach. The chairman responds to the performance of the interim coach. And a sneer at Ronny Deila is not far away.

It must be said: apart from the unique semi-final in the Conference League, Nicky Hayen is simply the right man in the right place. The interim coach has once again turned Club Brugge into a gang of roaring lions. Under Ronny Deila they were rather tame lambs.

“I have read a lot about us in recent weeks,” says Bart Verhaeghe The last news. “I have been in the football world for a while. The perception is often simply the fad of the day. The core of the matter, however, is that we have very good football players.”

“The players have proven that on the field in recent weeks,” the Blue-Black chairman is on a roll. “Club Brugge is much stronger than one man. And certainly than one trainer. It is important to look for a coach who fits into the story and can work with professionals around him. That is certainly not always the case.”

Verhaeghe makes a very clear sneer at Ronny Deila. “Sometimes trainers arrive here and they think that they are the only boss and can decide everything. That is not the case with us. A trainer does his job and determines a clear line of play. But those lines of play must also be specific to Club Brugge.”

Will Nicky Hayen remain the coach of Club Brugge next season?

“Nicky does that very well,” concludes Verhaeghe. “He works with all the knowledge available here and discusses his choices. Once again: Club Brugge is not a one-man show. What the future looks like? We will determine that in the coming weeks. But it certainly looks good.”
