Three children without lunch out of a total of 1,051: that is the result of a study by Ghent University and the Flemish Institute for Healthy Living. Empty lunch boxes are less common than expected, but at the same time 9 percent of children indicate that there is not always enough food at home. Director Ann Savat can confirm this: “We have already experienced that the lunch box was filled, but not with sandwiches but with cold fries.” The principal testifies about the one important lunch rule that applies at her school.
