Club Brugge once again made a solid impression with a resounding victory against Racing Genk. Denis Odoi missed the chance to make it 2-0 before half-time.

With 13 out of 15 after half of the Champions’ Play-offs, Club Brugge has emerged as one of the title candidates. Jutgla quickly scored in the first half, and in the second half the score was further increased to 4-0.

“The most important thing was getting the three points, especially for me,” Denis Odoi said afterwards. He incomprehensibly missed a great chance to make it 2-0 just before half-time. “That header should have been in anyway,” he admitted honestly.

Club quickly scores Genk out in the second half

“So I’m happy that we scored even more after the break. The quick goal helped to take the match to us, but we have now found a balance in the team even without the ball. We were well in the block and were given the counter-attack still chances.”

“We said in the second half that we are going to defend the result by continuing to attack,” Odoi said. That worked, as Club scored the 2-0 and 3-0 before the hour mark. Genk soon counted out.

Club will travel to Genk on Sunday. “The same there? That won’t be that simple. I think Vrancken will make some adjustments. We have to take that into account,” Odoi concluded.
