Antwerp

The City of Antwerp, STAN and the Antwerp Student Consultation (ASO) welcomed all student representatives and presidia on Wednesday for the thirteenth edition of the annual Kick-off event in the Zuiderpershuis. This year the focus was on mental well-being.

With its 55,000 students, Antwerp is the second largest student city in Flanders, after Ghent. The Kick-off aims to inspire and support students who organize themselves in clubs or take up a mandate as a student representative.

That is why the Antwerp Student Consultation launched a campaign together with STAN to portray Antwerp student life in a positive light. The campaign highlights the social initiatives of student clubs with the hashtag voorelkezattestudentteenengaged .

Power sessions

In addition, this conference included workshops that covered topics such as mental well-being, dealing with alcohol and how to best respond to sexual misconduct. All attendees could put together a personal program including two power sessions.

Students could also follow a social media training or first aid workshop and the local police and neighborhood director were ready to talk to them. The elected student representatives were given the necessary tools at this event so that they can start the next academic year prepared and informed. Finally, there was a networking moment.
