On Monday afternoon, CD&V Brussels presented its campaign on Brussels safety at the Ijzer metro station. Both party chairman Sammy Mahdi Mahdi and party leaders Benjamin Dalle and Bianca Debaets were present to propose 14 security measures. The metro station is not a random choice; it is a place that symbolizes the drug problem in the capital. The agenda includes doubling the number of community police officers, more investment in the police and a merger of the Brussels police zones. “People should be able to take their children to school again in complete safety or park their car without our windows being smashed in the morning.”
