Bunsbeek

During the annual Krinus festivities, from Friday May 3 to Sunday May 5, there is a lot to experience, with the crowning achievement being the change of name of the parish center to PC De Krinus, a meeting place for young and old in the village center of Bunsbeek.

The kick-off will be on Friday, May 3, with the Music Quiz. “After last year’s success, we expect more than twenty groups to compete for the win this year,” says Kenny Denruyter of the organization. “Visitors can enjoy the local beer, Krinus blond and Krinus dark or tapas dishes for a small appetite.”

The Krinus Night is all about music on Saturday, May 4. Wim Devos & Friends open the evening, followed by Ronny Mosuse. The live shows are concluded by 2Generation, a rock cover band including members of Okseldamp and Sarah Verdeyen. DJ Diederik will take over from 11:30 PM for a party.

Families

On Sunday, May 5, young and old are welcome for family fun with the summer market from 10 a.m. in the streets and park around the church of Bunsbeek. Admire the Static Retro Show with old motorcycles from the locals and a visiting motorcycle club from Herselt during the Treffen der Zuiderkempen. For the children there is a bouncy castle and make-up from 11 am, while parents can enjoy fries, coffee and cake on the summer terrace. At 3 p.m. it’s Playtime feat. Second Breakfast, a live band that makes children’s hearts beat faster. For more information, please visit the Krinusfeesten Facebook page. (VDT)
