A year ago, Dimitri Leue (50) ended up in hospital after he was attacked by Egyptian geese while jogging. On JOE, the actor said that he is still suffering the consequences. “I still wear a brace on my knee.”

Leue, who, in addition to his many theater work, we mainly know from Team spiritfilms, was attacked by two Egyptian geese in the Boekenberg Park in Deurne last year. “I started sprinting and tried to chase them away, but they didn’t give up. At one point I tripped and fell against a tree, with a sturdy one Jaap as a result,” he told this newspaper at the time.

More than a year later, he told Sven Ornelis and Anke Buckinx that he was “extremely lucky that those wounds fell just in my hairline”. “A few more inches and I would have had a big scar on my face. I also had whiplash and went to an osteopath until January. Six months later I discovered that there was also something wrong with my knee. That’s why I still wear a brace while jogging.”

But his fear of Egyptian geese is fine, he says. “I think they can just live and have more young. The city of Antwerp has put up a sign: Watch out for the Egyptian geese.”
