World premiere: Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland present the first aircraft with augmented reality

--

The aircraft was presented to media, employees and guests during an event in the Brussels Airlines hangar. The new Belgian Icon is a tribute to the world-famous Tomorrowland festival and is a new showpiece of Brussels Airlines’ Belgitude, where the airline brings the world to Belgium but also shows the best of Belgium to the world.

The design is a world first: Amare is the first aircraft with augmented reality in its paintwork. The magical creature on the plane comes to life when scanned on some social media channels such as Instagram and Tiktok. This application allows the People of Tomorrow to see even more vividly the story of unity that transcends time and space.

The entire design phase took a total of 15 months, with a lot of attention to detail: such as the feathers of the bird or the fireworks that transition into the Brussels Airlines logo. The Tomorrowland experience is also extended into the plane, with an impressive sound system and special mood lighting.

“Brussels Airlines has been a proud partner of Tomorrowland since 2012 and I am happy to announce that we are extending this partnership until 2028. We have many things in common, such as our passion for discovering the world and connecting cultures, but also our awareness of our ecological footprint and the ambition to take the necessary steps to reduce that impact. These shared values make our collaboration a great success,” says Dorothea von Boxberg, CEO of Brussels Airlines.

First flight

Amare will not only take festival goers to Tomorrowland but will also be used on regular commercial flights from April 26, 2024. The first flight will be SN3781 to Tenerife.
