The Party of Trees

--

Empathy with other people and with the whole of living systems.

We dare to make choices, take responsibility and with courage and passion we commit ourselves to every person, animal and plant,” says Luc

In Flemish Brabant, the Party of Trees is also participating in the parliamentary elections. Founder and party leader Luc Ferdinand wants his party not only to focus on increased tree welfare, but also on affordable housing, fair wages and good animal care. In the previous elections he was party leader of the DierAnimal party and obtained 1.3% of the votes.

We approach the world from a moderate humanism, a cautious ecocentrism with a portion of romance and tenderness and a lot of social commitment, care and existentialism.

“We dare to make choices, take responsibility and with courage and passion we commit ourselves to every person, animal and plant,” says Luc. “For the entire ecosystem…for the sea and the rivers, for the hills and the mountains, for the sky and the earth, for space and silence. And especially for the children, the lonely, the weak and the outcasts among us. Selfless service and caring are very important values. For a deeper respect for things, for more empathy with other people, other living beings.

This respect presupposes a greater humility towards the whole of living systems. This empathy should not be confused with sentimentality, but is the empathy that enables him to acquire knowledge and empathize with the reality experience of other animal and non-animal beings.

Every living being must be able to be itself, express and develop itself in the least possible pain, in peace and in harmony with each other. We believe that mutual respect can be found in dialogue.”
